CulTech was recently stablished to conduct research and studies on the protection of Cultural hriatge Heritage. It is now involved in documentation of Petra Monuments, including 3 D documentation of the architectural features of some facades as well as direct in situ measurements of salts. It is the aim of Cultech to conduct projects, consultancies, training courses and studies releated to cultural resources managment and conservation

Competence Centre Description
1- The Center includes a number of esperts in the following: Conservation Sciences; CRM; Museology; Photogrammetry; Restoration and maintenance; Tourism planning; Risk Assessment; Docuemntation of Cultural Heritage and Hostoric Collections. Our previous and current projects include Docuemntation of Jordanian Ancient Jewelry, Study of acousitics of Jerash ancient theaters, Analysis od Nabataean ancient pottery, Studies of weathering of Petra monuments, documentation of Petra monuemnts and design and implementation of a GIS for Petra.
ACQUISITION AND HARVESTING: 2D objects
Documentation of Jewelry. Docuemntation of Monuments in Petra. A database was created including geographic positions in UTM coodinates. This was folowed by the creation of an AIS (Archeological Geographic Infomation System. Surveying equipment and GPS were used all the tgiem for the purpose.
ACQUISITION AND HARVESTING: 3D management of data
3D scanners and image based photogrammetry was used to docuemnt some of the facades in Petra as wellas two theaters in Jersh. Acousitic data was also collected in Jerash theaters in order to study the cultural acousitic heritage.

Grouns penetrating radar and conventional excavations were used to disclose iron smelting kilns in Petra. we are also curently studying the faults and joints in Petra that could cause risks tio the Siq ans the site. In addition we have conducted weathering studies in Petra.

Creation of database for Petra allows all forms of outputs using the Information system. GIS also allows statistical analysis of the architectural data that has been collected
